Pili Nuts

My husband brought our daughter a small claypot so that she could play with something we played with when we, our selves, were kids.  Inside it, he put something extra.  He put the unshelled pili nuts.  It's for play.

However, this is my first time to see unshelled Pili nuts.  The shell is hard as wood and so my husband has to use the knive, both ends of it, to hammer and to peel it off before he lets me have a bite of it.

One of the reasons why Pili nuts are a bit pricey in comparison with all the other regular nuts out there may be because it takes a lot of work to get the shell of them.

Truly a nice travel gift for both mom and daughter.
